O’Donis Person is the author and creator of Nursing Soul. At a very young age, he had a sense of needing to make a difference in the medical field, particularly mental health. That desire led him to develop an interest in nursing and began his studies soon after high school. Escaping from suburban and city life, he attended Finlandia University, a rural private school in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In 2014 he graduated with a BSN and moved outside of Portland Oregon where he worked an inpatient psychiatric unit. During his time there, he surrounded himself with mentors and his love for nursing grew as well. Outside of work he frequently spoke at Portland College to a group of inspiring pre-nursing students who were the first in their family to pursue higher education. Thus, his aim is to encourage, inspire and exemplify what it truly means to be a nurse. He now resides in Houghton Michigan and plans to start course work toward becoming a psychiatric Nurse practitioner in the fall of 2017.
